Cant open ipynb files in hidden folders/folders starting with period in name #455

Description of your problem

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Cant open files .ipynb from folders starting with period ex ".spyder" or hidden files
  2. Even if i save a new .ipynb file inside a folder starting with period i will end up getting file does not exist

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
older Spyder version can access hidden folder/file/ names with period at the start

Thanks for your report. I am in the process of updating the plugin now to work with recent release of Jupyter and the upcoming release of Spyder, which is not as straightforward as I had hoped. I will check your issue afterwards.
