Question about denseCRF

do you mind to briefly explain how the denseCRF works here? I obtained the cam which is in (1,108,108) but seem like your cam is 3 channels, and why do we need to do the padding with threshold value? I know that it is for the confident area for the back and foreground, but I dont understand the theory behind.
