Equivalent to the builtin repeat-mode

How do I achieve the same functionality as the builtin repeat-mode? For example, with the following snippet, I am able to interactively adjust the width of olivetti mode by pressing C-c { { } instead of C-c { C-c { C-c }. However, the repetition does not work when I start with meow mode's SPC c {.

Sorry for the noise, and repeat-mode actually works fine with meow. My confusion was caused by a typo in my snippet above—the final map is wrongly put outside the let form, causing it to error (as it's void) when I tested it with meow.
